Highlighting the spirit of global and regional cooperation, the Sri Lanka Navy on 30 Nov 25 acknowledged the invaluable support by foreign warships, extending much-needed Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, during the recent weather disaster in Sri Lanka. These vessels had arrived to take part in the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025, held off the Galle Face seas, marking the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Rear Admiral Dammika Wijewardana who was newly appointed as Commander Southern Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters on 29th December 2025.

This initiative fell under a series of religious, environmental, and social welfare programmes conducted by the Navy, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility and community wellbeing.
