Rear Admiral Dhiren Vig, who led the Indian delegation for the navy-to-navy staff talks between the Indian and the Sri Lankan Navies, called on the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo on 02nd September 2015 to pay his courtesy.

A joint naval exercise was conducted between the visiting Australian naval ship Melbourne and Sri Lankan Navy ships SLNS Sagara and SLNS Samudura on 02nd September 2015.
