Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, as the Chief Guest, presided over the ceremony which awarded scholarships aiming the educational needs of the children of naval personnel, at the Admiral Somathilaka Dissanayake Auditorium, Naval Headquarters today (16).

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kanchadewa located in the Kayts Island in Northern Naval Area, arrested 11 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using unauthorized fishing nets in the sea area Southeast of Pungudativu Island yesterday (15).
