‘Apadawata Pera Sudanama’ a cleaning programme initiated to reduce flood risk caused by the overflowing of Malwathu Oya in Anuradhapura was held under the patronage of the President His Excellency, Maithripala Sirisena at the German Bridge of Anuradhapura yesterday (07th July).

Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe assumed duties as the newly appointed Commander Eastern Naval Area today (08 July).

As a part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s cooperate social responsibility project the Northern Naval Command conducted an another field medical clinic at the Naval community water distribution premises, Nallinakapurum village in Kankasanthurai on 07th July 2018 under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe.

Four (04) Indian fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the Sri Lankan territorial waters along with a trawler were apprehended by the Fast Gun Boat attached to the Northern Naval Command, in the seas off the Delft Island, yesterday (7th July).
