34th National Rowing Championship – 2019

The 34^th National Rowing Championship – 2019 was held for 03 days at the Diyawanna Rowing Centre from 28^th February to 02^nd March. A total of over 300 athletes took part in this year’s event representing the tri-services, University of Colombo, University of Moratuwa, Colombo Rowing Club and 10 schools.

The Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force were declared joint winners of the Men’s category and the Navy women went on to secure the runners-up slot of the women’s category. Further, the Navy athletes managed to bag 02 gold medals and 01 silver medal from the men’s events and 01 silver and 01 bronze medal from the women’s events taking the total medal tally to 05.

Mr. Rohan Fernando, the President of Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka graced the event as the Chief Guest. Presidents and Secretaries of the tri-service rowing clubs were also present at the event.
