Ten persons engaged illegal fishing held by Navy

Ten (10) persons who engaged illegal fishing on unauthorized means were nabbed by a group of Naval personnel attached to the North Western Naval Command, during a patrol carried out at Daluwa sea area in Puttalam, yesterday (03^rd April).

The nabbed persons are between 30-57 years and residents of Chilaw area. Three dinghies, 03 Out Board Motors (OBM) and 03 generators had been taken into naval custody and the suspects along with nabbed items were handed over to the office of the Fisheries Inspector-Puttalam for further investigation.
