Navy nabs a person with heroin

The Navy in coordination with the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) nabbed a person with 2.1g of heroin in his possession in the town of Puttalam yesterday (04^th May).

Accordingly, naval personnel attached to the Northwestern Naval Command in coordination with the officials of PNB in Puttalam conducted a joint search in the town area of Puttalam. While searching a Vavuniya bound bus from Colombo, the officials managed to apprehend a person with 2.1g of heroin in his possession. The amount of heroin had been in 08 small packets.

The suspect has been identified as a resident of Dematagoda area, aged 41. Police Narcotic Bureau of Puttalam is conducting further investigation into the incident.
