Navy pledges its commitment to achieve fourfold outcome: a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation
Commencing the proceedings of the year 2020 on an auspicious note, naval personnel took the oath of allegiance to public service this morning (01st January 2020) at a ceremony presided over by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva at the Naval Headquarters.
In relation to the policy statement “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendor” by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa, to achieve fourfold outcome: a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation, the naval personnel pledged their support to accomplish macro-economic targets as the sole objective considering year 2020 as the base year.
Addressing the gathering, Commander of the Navy extended greetings for a happy and prosperous new year 2020 to naval personnel and civil staff employees present on the occasion. He also underlined the importance of performing our duties honestly with true sense of responsibility, efficiency and effectiveness in order to achieve the development and prosperity of the country. In addition, the Navy Commander also drew attention on fourfold outcome: a productive citizenry, a happy family, a disciplined society and a prosperous nation and expressed that naval personnel would wholeheartedly contribute in achieving those aspirations.
Chief of Staff of the Navy, Director Generals, senior and junior officers, sailors and civil staff members working in the organization were also present on this occasion. Further, ceremonies to give Oath of the Public Service were also held at each Naval Command with the attendance of naval personnel and civil staff employees.
