“Xiang Yang Hong 06”, a research vessel belongs to the People’s Republic of China which arrived to Sri Lanka on last 3^rd of January 2020, is engaging in a research on micro-organisms in the seas and on the sea bed of the territorial waters of Sri Lanka.

The Northern Naval Command, on 16^th January 2020, rendered assistance to bring ashore an injured fisherman who was onboard a multiday fishing trawler.
