Another beach clean-up drive of the Sri Lanka Navy, mooted in view of conservation of beaches around the island, was successfully carried out at several beaches in the Northern and Southern Naval Areas, on 18^th and 19^th January 2020.

The Navy, during a raid conducted with the assistance of the Excise Office-Hambanthota apprehended 02 persons with about 10kg of Local Cannabis at Kiriibbanara in Sooriyawewa area on 19^th January 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 04 Indian fishermen along with a fishing trawler for poaching in Sri Lankan territorial waters on 18 January 2020.

The Navy in coordination with the Excise officers apprehended a motor bike with about 18kg and 300g of Kerala cannabis during a raid carried out at Chavakachcheri area in Jaffna on 18^th January 2020.

In a combined operation conducted with Madawachchiya Police, SL Navy recovered two shot guns which were hidden in the Poonewa forest reservation, on 18^th January 2020.
