Navy assists to apprehend person with stock of venison

SL Navy managed to apprehend a person with a stock of venison during a coordinated search carried out with Anti Corruption Unit-Mannar, at Thunakkai area in Illuppaiwakawai, on 24^th April 2020.

As an extension of operations carried out by the Navy to curb the illegal activities and to apprehend the offenders, a search was carried out at Thunakkai area in Illuppaiwakawai and apprehended a person who had stocked 35kg of venison. The suspect is a resident of the same area aged 44.

Further, investigation on the suspect and stock of venison, is conducted by Police Anti Corruption Unit-Mannar. SL Navy is concerned of the persons who engage in this type of slaughtering innocent animals which leads to destroy the natural beauty and will be continuing raids to prevent such destructive activities in future too.
