At the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Navy provided a thalassemia infusion system to a child suffering from inherited blood disorder. Accordingly, the donation was made by Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake to that child from Julampitiya in Meegasara, at the Malima reception Hall and Naval leave centre, Tangalle today (06^th January 2023). The infusion systems are produced by the Research and Development Unit of the Navy, as part of Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives.

The inter-ship / craft ROR, Rigging, Semaphore and Flashing Competition – 2022 organised by the Naval Fleet Command concluded successfully at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 05^th January 2023.

Sri Lanka Navy today (06^th January 2023) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Neville Ubayasiri who relinquished naval duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years.

On successful completion of their basic training, three hundred and ninety five (395) recruits belong to the 249th intake of the Regular and Volunteer Naval Forces passed out in a colourful ceremony held at the parade ground of SLNS Nipuna in Boossa on 05^th January 2023.
