Navy bids farewell to Rear Admiral Ranjan Medagoda
After more than 33 years of exceptional service and remarkable contribution to the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Ranjan Medagoda bade farewell to his illustrious naval career today (06th June 2023).
Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Jayantha Kularatne along with the Board of Management conveyed their warm wishes to the retiring officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Ranjan Medagoda was accorded a Guard of Honour in precision with naval tradition. As the customary event concluded, fellow naval officers bade their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer, before he departed from the premises amidst the cheers of naval personnel.
Rear Admiral Ranjan Medagoda joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 07th intake of Kotelawala Defence University in 1989. During his illustrious career, he served in various significant positions, such as; Project Manager Ipalogama Housing Scheme, Command Civil Engineering Officer (West), Project Manager Akuregoda, Command Civil Engineering Department (North), Deputy Director Construction Unit of Defence Headquarters Complex Project, Project Manager Jaffna Project, Project Manager Ten Storied Building Project at Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Command Civil Engineering Department (West), Deputy Director Naval Civil Engineering, Acting Director Naval Civil Engineering and Director General Civil Engineering.
