Commander of the Navy felicitated by Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya, Makola

Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya of Sapugaskanda Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Makola today (17th March 2024) felicitated the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera who is one of the past pupils of Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya. The appreciative felicitation ceremony was held under the wise counsel of Senior Professor at the Department of Pāli and Buddhist Studies, University of Kelaniya, Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Napiriththankadawala Ganarathna Nayaka Thera.

Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, a prominent past pupil of Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya, was felicitated in this ceremony for his dedication to the nation and his active support for the promotion of Buddhism.

The felicitation ceremony was made more colourful by several performances presented by the children of Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya.

Members of Ven. Maha Sangha, state officials, Director General Civil Engineering, Rear Admiral Hiran Balasooriya, students of Sri Gunarathana Dharma Vidyalaya and residents were also present on this occasion.
