The Sri Lanka Navy conducted a lifesaving and first aid training programme for youth in rehabilitation at Rehabilitation Centre Madukanda, Vavuniya. The programme was held from 20th to 30th August 2024.

The newly built air-conditioned accommodation type Wave Rider IPCs (P 265 and P 266) were officially launched into service on 02nd September 2024 at the SLNS Vijaya base pier in Kalpitiya. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dhammika Wijewardana.
