Sponsors provide prizes for Art and Video Animation competition organized by Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs

The Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs is set to conduct an all-Island Art and Video Animation competition under the theme “EMPOWERING CHILDREN AND YOUTH FOR BRIGHT FUTURE WITHOUT DRUGS”. This competition, organized for school children and the youth community, is scheduled for November 2024. The Colombo Plan and Dialog Axiata PLC are sponsoring prizes for the winners of the competition. On 11th November 2024 representatives from these organizations met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, who chairs the Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs. During the meeting at Navy Headquarters, they symbolically presented the prizes.

The Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Science & Technology, Ministry of Health, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, Colombo Plan, and Dialog Axiata PLC, is spearheading this vital competition. Together, they aim to drive this timely initiative forward with full support from each organization.

The Art competition is divided into two categories: for students from grades 6 to 11. The Animation Video competition will be divided into two categories: the first for students in Grades 10 to 13, and the second for participants aged 19 to 30. Today’s event saw Colombo Plan and Dialog Axiata PLC representatives presenting cash prizes and mobile phones to the Commander of the Navy, symbolizing their gifts to the competition winners.
