Navy’s 74th Anniversary celebrated with blood donation campaign at SLNS Nipuna
To commemorate the Sri Lanka Navy's 74th Anniversary, a blood donation drive was held at the Naval Hospital of SLNS Nipuna on 12th December 2024.
As part of the celebrations scheduled for 09th December, the Navy has prioritized community service and religious activities. On the sidelines of these programmes, this blood donation campaign was organized by the Southern Naval Command, to replenish blood stocks for the Blood Bank of National Hospital (Teaching), Karapitiya Galle.
Organized under the guidance of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, and the supervision of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva, the initiative reflected the Navy’s commitment to social responsibility.
The event witnessed voluntary participation, with 135 personnel from ships, craft and establishments belonging to the Southern Naval Command donating blood to support this life saving effort.
