Commander of the Navy visits hospital ship ‘Peace Ark’
The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, accompanied by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Mala Lamahewa on 24th December 2024 visited the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy hospital ship ‘Peace Ark’, arrived in Colombo.
Upon arrival, Vice Admiral Perera and Mrs. Lamahewa were warmly welcomed by senior officers, including Rear Admiral YING Hongbo and Rear Admiral HE Yongming from ‘Peace Ark’. Following the reception, they toured the ship, observing its features and operations.
During the subsequent discussions, the Commander of the Navy and senior officers of ‘Peace Ark’ shared perspectives on bilateral matters and reviewed upcoming initiatives, including medical clinics planned with the support of the Sri Lanka Navy Medical Department.
The cordial discussion drew to a close with an exchange of mementoes, as a gesture of goodwill and cooperation. Director General Health Services, Rear Admiral Janaka Marambe was also present on this occasion.
