Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe assumes duties as Commander Eastern Naval Area

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe, who was newly appointed as Commander Eastern Naval Area, assumed duties at the Command Headquarters in Trincomalee today (29 Jan 25).

The incoming Area Commander was received to the Eastern Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions. Thereafter, Rear Admiral Indika De Silva, who oversaw duties as Acting Commander Eastern Naval Area, formally handed over the duties and responsibilities of the appointment to Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe.
