Sixteen (16) Direct Entry officers receive letters of appointment from Commander of the Navy
The Commander of the Navy, handed over letters of appointment to 16 officers, enlisted to the Sri Lanka Navy under 2024/03 Direct Entry scheme, at the Navy Headquarters today (21 Feb 25).
The 16 newly enlisted officers belong to the branches of Executive (04), Logistics (04), Electrical and Electronic (01), Information Technology (01) and Volunteer Executive (06); with two of them being lady officers.
Speaking at the event, the Navy Commander extended his best wishes to the new batch of officers who joined the Navy. He further expressed his appreciation to the parents and loved ones of the newly enlisted officers for encouraging them to join the Navy to serve the motherland.
The Commander of the Navy added that naval service is not just a job but a noble calling, offering a wide range of experiences and opportunities. He also urged them to perform their duties with utmost dedication and effort at all times. Adding further, the Commander of the Navy emphasized that honesty, loyalty, dedication, and courage are the four main pillars of naval life. By upholding these principles, the new officers would contribute to the continued excellence and legacy of the Navy, he said.
The ceremony was also attended by Chief of Staff of the Navy, senior officers from the Board of Management, Commander Western Naval Area as well as parents and loved ones of newly enlisted officers.
