Navy’s commitment to community ensures cleaning of Angunochchiya Vidyalaya in Medawachchiya
The Sri Lanka Navy undertook a clean-up initiative at Angunochchiya Vidyalaya in Medawachchiya on 24 Feb 25, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for students and staff. The programme was conducted as part of the nationwide initiative to renovate schools under the “Clean Sri Lanka” project.
As a major partner in the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, the Sri Lanka Navy has stepped forward to support the government’s vision of a “Beautiful Island, Smiling People.” Accordingly, the Ministry of Defence is overseeing the cleaning and renovation of 200 selected school premises across the country. This effort is part of the broader programme to develop infrastructure in 1,000 schools. The project is being carried out with the technical expertise and manpower enabled by the Tri-Forces.
Following the directives of the Commander of the Navy, the North Central Naval Command’s effort ensured a cleaner and healthier environment for teaching-learning process at Angunochchiya Vidyalaya, with both technical expertise and manpower.
