Rear Admiral Prashantha Anthony honoured in send-off salute

The Sri Lanka Navy today (17 Mar 25) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Prashantha Anthony who relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, along with the Board of Management of the Sri Lanka Navy, extended best wishes to the retiring senior officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. Thereupon, Rear Admiral Anthony was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. As the customary event drew to a close, fellow naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer, before he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of naval personnel.

Rear Admiral Prashantha Anthony joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 20th intake in 1990. Throughout his distinguished naval career, the senior officer had the privilege of holding prestigious positions, including Captain Electrical Department (North), (west) and (South), Commodore Electrical and Electronic Department (West), Deputy Director Naval Electrical (Electronic & Telecommunication) and Deputy Director Maritime Surveillance, Commodore Electrical Department (East), Head of Cyber Security Cell, Director Naval Electrical Admin and Biomedical Engineering, Director Naval Electrical Utility and Biomedical Engineering and Director Naval Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering and finally Director General Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
