Community efforts shine as Navy revitalizes learning environment at Sri Subramaniyam Vidyalaya, Mullaitivu
Demonstrating its continued commitment to social responsibility and empowerment, the Sri Lanka Navy conducted an environmental enhancement initiative at Sri Subramaniyam School, Mullaitivu on 26 Mar 25. The initiative was launched as part of the nationwide programme aimed at fostering an educational atmosphere that upholds national values, incorporates social ethics, and prioritizes environmental sustainability, centered on the theme "A School Full of Happiness.”
The Sri Lanka Navy is a key partner of the "Clean Sri Lanka" campaign, aligning with the government's vision of "Beautiful Island, Smiling People." In line with this vision, the Navy is actively contributing to the mission of the “Clean Sri Lanka” project, aiming to reposition the nationwide efforts of environmental, social, and ethical initiatives.
Under the theme "A School Full of Happiness," schools are being urged to cultivate a vibrant, innovative, disciplined, and talent-focused community by creating a clean, nurturing, and safe learning environment. As part of this initiative, which emphasizes improving school facilities and infrastructure, the Navy has successfully revitalized 37 schools, as of now.
The recent initiative at Sri Subramaniyam Vidyalaya, Mullaitivu, implemented to foster environmental awareness and cleanliness while enhancing the relationship between the Navy and local community, was conducted under the guidance of the Commander Eastern Naval Area.
