The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, conducted an official visit to the Northwestern Naval Command from 06th to 08th Jun 25, reviewing operational readiness, administrative affairs as well as welfare and development initiatives, while addressing naval personnel on key national security priorities.

Representing the Sri Lanka Navy's ongoing commitment to community welfare through their Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) programme, 04 new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants were officially opened in several villages in the Anuradhapura district, including Ehetuwagama, Amunukole, Adampan and Katupath Wewa on 06 Jun 25.

A national initiative to raise public awareness about the ocean’s vital environmental and economic significance and the urgent need to safeguard it for future generations was held on 08 Jun 25 at Colombo Port City in observance of World Oceans Day.

The Navy joined hands to enhance conducive educational environment at Laafir Vidyalaya, Kalmunai on 30 May 25, as part of "A School Full of Happiness" initiatives.
