Commander of the Air Force pays courtesy call on Commander of the Navy
The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at the Navy Headquarters today (02 Jul 25).
The visiting Air Force Chief was received by the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chandima Silva at the portals of the Navy Headquarters. Subsequently, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour reflecting the rich heritage and discipline of the armed forces. Moments later, the Commander of the Navy introduced the Navy Chief of Staff and Board of Management to the Commander of the Air Force.
During the ensuing formal meeting, the two top military brass held discussions on shared interests, with special emphasis on the critical contributions of the Sri Lanka Navy and Air Force in bolstering national security.
The courtesy call underscored the enduring spirit of joint-force cohesion, rooted in mutual respect and shared national objectives. Meanwhile, the cordial discussion drew to a close in a dignified gesture of exchanging mementoes, symbolizing shared professional values and inter-service cooperation.
