Navy delivers freshwater lifeline to Anuradhapura villages with 03 RO plants

In a significant step towards improving public health through Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) initiatives, 03 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, set up by the Sri Lanka Navy, were declared open in Aluthpunchikulam, Meewellewa and Sri Rathanachethiyarama Viharaya in Amunuchchiya, Anuradhapura on 23 Jul 25.

Implemented with industrial expertise of the Sri Lanka Navy, this project was carried out with funds made possible by the Presidential Secretariat. With a daily purification capacity of approximately 10,000 liters each, the plants are set to provide safe drinking water to residents of respective localities. Moreover, this magnanimous project of the Navy reached its 1117th milestone with the opening of the 3 new facilities.

Aligned with the government's vision of ' A vigorous life - Healthy people’, the Navy is advancing its NSR project to supply safe drinking water to communities deprived of such access.
