Navy's community focus brings safe drinking water to Ittikattiya village in Anuradhapura

As part of its Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, the Sri Lanka Navy declared open a new Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant for community use at Ittikattiya Sri Bodhimalu Viharaya in Thirappane, Anuradhapura on 24 Oct 25.

This Reverse Osmosis plant was established through the Sri Lanka Navy's technical and engineering expertise, with initiatives from the Ministry of Health and funding from the Presidential Secretariat.

The initiative has now provided 1,136 Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to communities across the nation. The latest unit, opened in the village of Ittikattiya, Thirappane, will supply a reliable source of safe drinking water to residents and the surrounding areas in Anuradhapura.
