Navy sets course for digital transformation with Electronic Government Procurement system
The Sri Lanka Navy took a significant step in transforming its administrative infrastructure by introducing an e-procurement system for logistics, in alignment with the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system.
Following the completion of a pilot training programme for naval personnel on the e-GP system, a feedback meeting was held on 13 Mar 26 at the Navy Headquarters under the patronage of the Director General Logistics.
The system provides all procurement-related information, including tenders, bids, and evaluations, to the users through a centralized digital platform. This reduces the risk of irregularities and promotes fair competition among suppliers. Additionally, the system improves efficiency by minimizing paperwork, reducing processing time, and enabling faster decision-making.
A group of naval personnel from the Logistics Directorate and DLMC was present at this feedback meeting.
