The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda embarked on a formal visit to the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 31 May 25. During the visit, he evaluated critical operational and training activities, reviewed welfare measures and addressed naval personnel on the vital role of the Sri Lanka Navy in national security.

The Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) No. 9 concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony on 01 Jun 25, at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee. The event was dignified by the presence of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, as the Chief Guest, at the invitation of Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph.

The 7th edition of “Logistics Conference”, organized by the Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) No. 9, took place on 31 Jun 25 at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Leveraging Adaptive Logistics in Building Resilient Supply Chains in a Volatile Global Economy’. The event was graced by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, as the Chief Guest, upon the invitation of the Commandant NMA, Rear Admiral Rohan Joseph.

In a significant push towards environmental sustainability, the Sri Lanka Navy engaged in shoreline conservation initiatives at Galle Face on 29 May 25. The programme was conducted to coincide with the National War Heroes’ commemoration.

A two-day Motivational, Leadership, and Team Building programme was successfully conducted for the Sri Lanka Navy Band personnel at SLNS Gemunu on 27 and 28 May 25, under the supervision of the Director of Music (DOM). The initiative aimed to energize the harmonious blend of discipline and artistry to the next level as Sri Lanka Navy band stands the distinguished symbol of the Navy’s ceremonial tradition and musical prowess resonating far beyond our shores.

The Sri Lanka Navy today (30 May 25) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe as he relinquished his duties to which he was committed over the past 33 years in the Sri Lanka Navy.

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, built as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project by the Navy's Research and Development Unit was declared open at Karavilagala Ananda Sambodhi Viharaya in Palagala, Anuradhapura on 27 May 25.

The National Hydrographer of Sri Lanka, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence in Sri Jayawardenepura, Kotte on Monday (May 26).

In a bid to enhance safety and emergency preparedness among fishing communities, the Sri Lanka Navy in partnership with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, conducted training programmes at Cod Bay and Valaichchenai Fisheries Harbours on 21 and 24 May 25.
