His Excellency the President presides National War Heroes’ Day commemoration at National War Heroes’ Monument, Battaramulla

The Commander in Chief of Armed Forces, His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today (19th May 2022) presided over the National War Heroes’ Day Commemoration 2022 held at the National War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla. The ceremony held in a dignified sequence was attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.

Commander of the Navy hails dependent naval war heroes on Victory Day

In view of the Victory Day anniversary, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne visited the Anchorage Naval Care Centre in Welisara and idolised the naval war heroes in rehabilitation there. Commander of the Navy was accompanied by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne during this visit.

2084 naval personnel promoted on 13th Victory Day anniversary

Coinciding with the 13th Victory Day anniversary 74 Navy officers and 2010 sailors have been promoted / advanced to their next higher ranks / rates by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, with the approval of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency the President.

SLN delegation including senior sailor takes part in Indo Pacific Sea Power Conference - 2022

The Indo Pacific Sea Power Conference-2022, hosted by the Royal Australian Navy, was held from 10th to 12th May 2022 at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney, Darling Harbour. On behalf of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, a delegation headed by Director General Training, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara took part in the conference which aimed to promote cooperative and collaborative regional partnerships. The SLN delegation for the first time comprised a senior sailor, representing the ratings of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Navy organizes blood donation campaign to mark 2566th Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, Sri Lanka Navy has organized a series of blood donation campaigns in each naval command. The magnanimous deed will be conducted throughout a month from 16th May to 16th June 2022 to mark the 2566th Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi.

Sixteen (16) naval artificer apprentices pass out after successful completion of training at Naval Institute of Technology

On successful completion of their training at Naval Institute of Technology (NIT) in Welisara, 16 naval artificer apprentices of the 18th artificer intake of the NIT passed out at the main parade ground of NIT in Welisara today (11th May 2022). The ceremony was graced by Director General Engineering, Rear Admiral Ravi Ranasinghe, as the Chief Guest.

A blood donation campaign held in Eastern Naval Command

A blood donation campaign organized by the Eastern Naval Command was held at the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 30th April 2022. The blood donation campaign, conducted as part of another social responsibility initiative of the Sri Lanka Navy, was carried out with voluntary participation of naval personnel in the Eastern Naval Command.
