Five (05) sailing boats of the Indian Navy arrived at the port of Trincomalee on 10th March 2022. Providing sail training experience to the officer under trainees of the Sri Lanka Navy, those sailing boats arrived at the port of Colombo today (16th March).

The lady officers and women sailors of the Sri Lanka Navy organized a special musical event - ‘Naval Angels’ Eve’, to mark the International Women's Day which fell on 08th March. The colourful event, held at the Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake Auditorium in the Navy Headquarters on 15th March 2022, was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne.

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Sri Lanka, H.E. Yury Materiy met with Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (15th March 2022).

Sri Lanka Navy introduced a new smartphone health application on 15th March 2022, as part of the series of health education programmes being implemented for healthy lifestyle of naval personnel.

USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer of the US Navy, arrived at the port of Trincomalee today (13th March 2022). Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ship in compliance with naval tradition.

INS ‘Chennai’, a Destroyer and the Flagship of the Indian Western Fleet along with the Frigate INS ‘Teg’ which arrived in Colombo on a formal visit on 10th March 2022 departed the island today (12th March).

The annual feast of St. Anthony’s Church in Kachchativu concluded with the participation of a limited number of devotees today (12th March 2022). The historic St. Anthony's Church in Kachchativu is located near the Indo – Sri Lanka maritime boundary line and is revered by Catholics with great devotion. As it has been the practice, Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance for the successful conduct of the festival this year as well.

The Navy rendered assistance to the health sector for the conduct of several community health programmes in Sampoor,Trincomalee and Mullaitivu in the Eastern Province on 06th, 08th , 10th and 11th March 2022. Navy lent their heaping hand for these initiatives as part of their community service and social responsibility initiatives.

Sri Lanka Navy today (11th March 2022) bade farewell to Rear Admiral Bandula Senarathne who retired from his distinguished naval service that spanned over 34 years.
