In a generous gesture aimed at enhancing healthcare facilities, the Hospital Services Council of Sri Lanka today (11th August 2023) provided essential medical equipment to the Navy General Hospital in Welisara. The Sylvia Lanka Foundation and NHS Trust in the United Kingdom have provided this consignment of equipment to the social responsibility project being implemented under the patronage of Director of Hospital Services Council Sri Lanka, Ven. Rajawelle Subuthi Thera.

Commodore Kosala Warnakulasooriya who was appointed as the Chief Hydrographer of the Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service (SLNHS) assumed duties at the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) today (10th August 2023).

The awards ceremony of ‘BestWeb.lk 2023’ was held at the Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte on 09th August 2023. At the ceremony, the Sri Lanka Navy received the gold and bronze awards won by the official website of Sri Lanka Navy in the Government Category and Overall Category respectively. The respective awards were presented to the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (10th August 2023).

The Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy warship HAI YANG 24 HAO arrived at the port of Colombo on a formal visit this morning (10th August 2023).

Upon completion of his distinguished career spanning over thirty five (35) years, Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma retired from the naval service today (10th August 2023).

The Chief Hydrographer of the Navy, Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma handed over the Bathymetric Fair Sheet of Valaichchenai Lagoon to the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (08th August 2023). The Sri Lanka Navy Hydrographic Service has prepared this Bathymetric Fair Sheet upon a survey of underwater topography of the Valaichchenai Lagoon, to identify a safe entrance to the Valaichchenai fisheries harbour in Batticaloa.

The annual feast of St Anne's Church Thalawila, Kalpitiya was held on a successful note, with the attendance of a large group of devotees on 06th August 2023. The special service of the church festival was conducted by Rt. Rev. Dr. Valence Mendis.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera on 03rd August 2023 attended the evening prayer service at St. Anne's Church – Thalawila. He also paid his obeisance to Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Lyle Fernando and received the blessings.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera embarked on a formal two-day visit to the Northern Naval Command on 02nd and 03rd August 2023. The visit was aimed at inspecting the progress of key development and welfare projects and operational matters in the Northern Naval Command. In addition, he also addressed a cross section of officers and sailors, regarding their designated role in the Sri Lanka Navy.

The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Khanjar which arrived in Trincomalee on 29th July 2023 on a three day formal visit, departed the island today (31st July). The Sri Lanka Navy bade a customary farewell to the departing ship in accordance with naval tradition at the port of Trincomalee.
