The Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet of the Indian Navy, Rear Admiral Sameer Saxena called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters today (10th March 2022).

Four ships belong to the French, Bangladesh and Indian navies arrived in Colombo and Hambantota on official visits on 08th and 09th March 2022. Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the visiting ships in precision with naval tradition.

Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias relinquished his naval duties and bade farewell to his career today (09th March 2022) after over34 years of distinguished service.

Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake today (08th March 2022) assumed office as the Commander North Central Naval Area at the Command Headquarters, Talaimannar.

Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Sayurala took part in the multilateral naval exercise, MILAN-2022 hosted by the Indian Navy. The 11th edition of MILAN was held at the Visakhapatnam Port and in the eastern seas of India from 25th February to 04th March 2022.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne declared open several construction projects in the North Central Naval Command on 05th March 2021. These projects were carried out with a view to upgrading the infrastructure of the North Central Naval Command.

A ceremony to mark the passing out of Direct Entry officers enlisted into the Regular Naval Force and commissioning of Service Entry candidates was held at the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) in Trincomalee on 05th March 2022. The colourful event was graced by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sanjeewa Dias, as the Chief Guest, at the invitation of Commandant NMA, Commodore Damian Fernando.

Rear Admiral Mahinda Mahawatta took over duties as Commander Southeastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters on 04th March 2022.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne awarded insignia to 04 officers and 22 sailors of the 07th intake of Sri Lanka Navy Marine, who successfully completed training attached to the amphibious arm of the Navy, at SLNS Vidura in Sampoor on 04th March 2022. The ceremony which was held under the patronage of Commander of the Navy was also attended by the President of Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs Chandima Ulugetenne.
