Navy official web adjudged the Most Popular Government Website at ‘Best Web 2021’

The awards ceremony of ‘Best Web 2021’ was held at the LK Domain Registry - an independent body registering domains for local websites, on 26th January 2022. Sri Lanka Navy’s official website ‘www.navy.lk’ was adjudged the Most Popular Website as well as the Bronze Winner in the Government Category at ‘Best Web 2021’. The awards received in this regard at the awards ceremony were handed over to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne at the Navy Headquarters on 08th February 2022.

Awareness programme conducted on rich biodiversity of Mannar

An awareness programme to shed light on Mannar area, its biodiversity and migratory birds was held at SLNS Thammanna in the North Central Naval Command on 05th February 2022. The programme was conducted by Prof. Sampath Seneviratne of the University of Colombo.

Navy honours nation according a 25-gun salute on Independence Day

On the sidelines of the 74th National Independence Day celebrations held under the theme “An affluent tomorrow and prosperous motherland with challenges overcome” Sri Lanka Navy honoured the nation by according a 25-Gun Salute onboard Sri Lanka Naval Ship (SLNS) Gajabahu by 12.00 noon today (04th February 2022). The ceremonial tradition was executed under the guidance of the Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Malan Perera.

Navy proudly takes part in 74th National Independence Day celebrations

The 74th National Independence Day ceremony of the motherland was held with pomp and pageantry at the iconic Independence Square, Colombo on the morning of 04th February 2022. The main ceremony went by the theme “An Affluent Tomorrow and Prosperous Motherland with Challenges Overcome” was held under the patronage of the President of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander in Chief of Armed Forces, His Excellency Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Showcasing its prowess, Sri Lanka Navy added glamour to the elegant national spectacle filled with pride.
