Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne in the company of President Navy Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne presided the spiritual Kanchuka Puja and Flag Blessing ceremonies held at the Ruwanwelisaya and Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura on 11th and 12th November 2021. The Buddhist Association of Sri Lanka Navy organized these events to invoke blessings on the forthcoming 71st anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy falling on 09th December.

Relinquishing duties to which he was committed more than 33 years, Rear Admiral Asoka Wijesiriwardane retired from naval service today (05th November 2021).

Commodore Kamal Bombugalage who held office as Acting Director General Electrical and Electronics retired from naval service on 03rd November 2021, on completion of over 33 years in the Navy.

Sri Lanka Navy’s middle and long distance athlete Leading Women Sailor, Gayanthika Abeyrathna received a service promotion to the next higher rate of Petty Officer from Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne effective from today (02nd November 2021).
