Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2023, the bilateral exercise hosted by the U.S. Pacific Fleet, got underway in Sri Lanka on 19th January 2023. As part of a series of public performances and exchanges between both partners, the bands of Sri Lanka Navy and the U.S. 7th Fleet brought a musical extravaganza to Colombo, where the first show was held at the premises of Colombo Lighthouse on the evening of 20th January.

Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2023, the bilateral exercise hosted by the U.S. Pacific Fleet, got underway in Sri Lanka today (19th January 2023). The opening ceremony of CARAT-2023 was held at the Colombo harbour premises and Naval Dockyard in Trincomalee.

Upon successful completion of the 35th Drill Instructor Course, 20 senior and junior sailors passed out at the main parade ground of the Naval and Maritime Academy (NMA) today (19th January 2023). The event was graced by the Commandant NMA, Commodore Damian Fernando, as the Chief Guest.

USS ‘Anchorage’ (LPD-23) of the United States Navy arrived at the Port of Colombo today (19th January 2023) to take part in the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Exercise -2023 (CARAT–2023). Upon her arrival, the visiting ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in compliance with naval traditions.

Naval personnel who followed the Forensic Diving Course at the Hulhumalé Coast Guard Base of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) presented an Olympus TG - 06 underwater camera and peripherals to Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera at the Navy Headquarters today (18th January 2023). As part of the European Union Critical Maritime Routes in Indian Ocean (EU CRIMARIO) Programme, the Gendarmerie Law Enforcement Forces of France has organized this Forensic Diving Course.
