A Visit Board Search & Seizure (VBSS) Course conducted for the Sri Lankan Law Enforcement Officers with the association of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Programme terminated at the Special Boat Squadron Headquarters on 09th October 2020.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne on 12^th October 2020 presided over the ceremonial decommissioning that had been organized with great pomp and circumstance to bid adieu to Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) ‘Weeraya’ and ‘Jagatha’ at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee. The duo of ships of the 3rd Fast Gun Boat Squadron has rendered a priceless service to the Sri Lanka Navy for over four decades with a noble resolve to ensure the security of the Sri Lankan waters.

The newly constructed wardroom at the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Marine Headquarters at Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Vidura in Sampoor - Trincomalee South, was declared open by Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne, today (12^th October 2020).

After completion of nearly 34 years of distinguished career, Rear Admiral Lalith Dissanayake retired from naval service, effective from today (08^th October 2020).

Another series of beach cleaning drives conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy in view of creating a trash-free coastline, was launched in the Northern and Southern beach areas, on 03^rd and 04^th October 2020.

In an attempt to arrest the spread of coronavirus among the public, Sri Lanka Navy today (07th October 2020) carried out a disinfection programme at the Provincial Main Passenger Bus Terminal, Colombo Fort which is frequented by a large number of commuters on daily basis.

The Ranaviru Seva Authority organized a mobile service for the wellbeing of families of deceased, differently abled, missing and retired war heroes of Tri-Services, Police and Civil Security Department. This timely initiative got underway at the Regimental Centre of Gajaba Regiment in Saliyapura on 03^rd October 2020 from 0800hrs to 1700hrs, under the precedence of Secretary Defence, Major General (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne, Tri-Service Commanders and Acting Inspector General of Police.

Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) ‘Mahaweli’ in the Eastern Naval Command proudly celebrated its 13^th anniversary which fell on 01st October 2020.

The ceremonial event to mark the World Children’s Day that falls today (01st October) and 125th anniversary of the Lady Ridgeway Hospital (LRH) for Children was graced by the Prime Minister, Hon. Mahinda Rajapaksa and the occasion was also attended by Commander of the Navy Vice, Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne.
