The Navy apprehended 03 persons with a cache of explosives used for illegal fishing practices, during a search conducted in Pallawakulam area, Kuchchaveli on 19^th May 2020.

The National War Heroes' Day 2020 was held under the auspices of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Gotabhaya Rajapaksa at the War Heroes’ Monument in Battaramulla on 19^th May 2020. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva was also present on the occasion.

With completion of their quarantine process forty five (45) family members of naval personnel who belong to 11 families left the quarantine centers, on 19^th May 2020.

Another twelve (12) naval personnel infected with coronavirus and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from the hospitals being tested negative to COVID-19, on 19^th May 2020.

With completion of their quarantine process another 12 persons left the quarantine centre established at Boossa Naval Base, on 19^th May 2020.

Sri Lanka Red Cross Society joining hands with ‘Hiru Sahana Yathra’ programme donated a stock of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Navy at the Naval Headquarters, today (19^th May 2020). These items are expected to be used in programmes which are undertaken by the Navy in view of arresting the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

Twenty three (23) inmates who were undergoing quarantine period in Naval quarantine center at Kalpitiya area, left the center after completion of their quarantine process, on 18^th May 2020.

Another five (05) naval personnel infected with coronavirus and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from the hospitals being tested negative to COVID-19, on 18^th May 2020.

The Navy removed logs and debris collected at the underside of Wakwella Bridge in Galle and made its free flow of water, as prior preparation of averting a possible threat of flooding, on 18^th May 2020.

With completion of their quarantine process eighteen (18) family members of naval personnel who belong to 05 families left the quarantine centers, on 17^th May 2020.
