The 17th iteration of the trilateral coast guard exercise ‘EX DOSTI’ concluded successfully on 19 Jan 26, following four days of cooperative engagement in Maldivian waters.

A delegation from the Defence Services Command and Staff Course Nepal, led by Brigadier General Purna Bahadur Khatri, visited the Navy Headquarters on 19 Jan 26 as part of their ongoing study tour in Sri Lanka. The delegation comprised officers following the Staff Course and academic staff members.

Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), conducted an inspection visit to the Sri Lanka Navy Operations Room at the Navy Headquarters in Akuregoda yesterday (13 January), where he underscored the national importance of the “Ratama Ekata” programme and commended the Sri Lanka Navy for its continuous and effective implementation of the initiative, despite its extensive involvement in rescue and relief operations during the recent national disaster emergency.

The Commander of the Navy conducted an on-site observation of the naval boat service operating along the Ambanganga on 10 Jan 26. This vital service was initiated on 24 December to ensure uninterrupted public transportation following the collapse of the bridge of Ambangahga following adverse weather.
