Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Vijayabahu which took part in the multinational naval exercise AMAN – 2025, hosted for the ninth time by Pakistan Navy, arrived the island on successful completion of the exercise today (17 Feb 25). Upon her arrival, the Navy welcomed the ship in compliance with naval traditions at the Port of Colombo.

The Defence Attaché to the Embassy of Israel in New Delhi, India and accredited to Sri Lanka, Colonel Avihay Zafrany called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at the Navy Headquarters today (17 Feb 25).

The Indonesian Naval Ship KRI BUNG TOMO - 357 which arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 16 Feb 25, departed the island today (17 Feb). The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship in accordance with naval traditions.

The Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, built as part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) Project by the Navy's Research and Development Unit was declared open at Nigrodharama Viharaya in Parasangaswewa, Anuradhapura today (16 Feb 25). The project, carried out with industrial expertise of the Research and Development Unit, was funded by the Sirasa Gammadda CSR initiative. Also, the facility marked the 1080th unit delivered under the NSR Project.

In support of the government's Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the Sri Lanka Navy lent its helping hand to various cleanup programmes across the Western, Southeastern, and Eastern Provinces on 15 and 16 Feb 25. These efforts included cleaning beaches and popular tourist spots under the "A Beautiful Beach - An Attractive Tourist Destination" project.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda paid a formal courtesy call on the Minister of Justice and National Integration, Hon. Harshana Nanayakkara, Attorney at Law on 11 Feb 25 at the Ministry of Justice.

A delegation from Rwanda Defence Force Command and Staff College, currently in Sri Lanka on their international study tour, visited the Navy Headquarters in Colombo today (11 Feb 25). During the visit, the head of delegation Colonel Lausanne Nsengimana Ingabire along with a group of senior officers called on the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) on 10 Feb 25 made his inaugural visit to the Navy Headquarters. Upon arrival, he was accorded a traditional Guard of Honour, reflecting the Navy's deep-rooted customs and warmly received by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda.

Rear Admiral Indika De Silva assumed duties as Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet (FOCNF) at his office in the Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee today (10 Feb 25).
