Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne after assuming office as Commander of the Navy, visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya in Kandy and called on the Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter to receive the blessings on 22^nd July 2020. The occasion was also attended by Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the beloved wife of Commander of the Navy as well as the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.

The visit was also joined by Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, the President of the Navy Seva Vanitha Unit.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne today (21^st July 2020) called on Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias at the Air Force Headquarters. Commander of the Navy was accorded a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Air Force Headquarters. This visit also marked the first official interaction between them after Commander of the Navy assumed office as the 24^th Navy Chief.

Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne called on Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva at the Army Headquarters today (21^st July 2020). The Navy Commander was warmly received according a special Guard of Honour upon his arrival and this turned out to be the first meeting between the top brass of the Army and Navy after Vice Admiral Ulugetenne assumed office as the 24^th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy.

Six (06) more inmates who were undergoing quarantine period in Naval quarantine center at Kalpitiya area, left the center after completion of their quarantine process, on 20^th July 2020.

The last 03 naval personnel who had contracted COVID-19 and underwent treatment in hospital, were discharged from the Iranawila Hospital after gaining full recovery from the virus, confirmed by PCR tests, on 20^th July 2020.

The Navy launched several beach clean-up programmes in the Northern and Southern Naval Commands on 18^th and 19^th July 2020.

SL Navy inaugurated the initial stage of a mega campaign of planting cashew saplings, in the Northern Naval Command on 19^th July 2020.

Another 02 naval personnel who had contracted COVID-19 and underwent treatment in hospitals, were discharged from them after gaining full recovery from the virus, confirmed by PCR tests, on 18^th July 2020.

The Navy along with the police apprehended a suspect in possession of drugs belonging to the category of Kerala cannabis, during a coordinated search conducted in Agalawatta area, Mathugama on 17^th July 2020.
