The Navy held a persons in possession of cannabis, during a search conducted with the Police in Illuppaikaddawai, Mannar on 16^th April 2020.

During a search conducted in Koththanthive, Baththuluoya on 16^th April 2020, the Navy held a person in possession of illicit liquor and 'Madana Modaka' pills.

The Navy apprehended 04 persons who engaged in illegal fishing using unauthorized fishing nets, during a patrol conducted in the sea area off Kokilai on 16^th April 2020.

After having raided an illicit liquor brewing centre in Uchchamunei area, Kalpitiya on 15^th April 2020, the Navy managed to apprehend a woman at the illicit arrack den, with a stock of illicit liquor.

The Navy apprehended 08 suspects with heroin, during a coordinated operation conducted with the Division Vice Squad Mannar in South Bar, Mannar on 15^th April 2020.

Sri Lanka Navy, on 15^th April 2020, rendered assistance to safely bring a sick Indian national aboard the International Merchant Vessel ‘Menkar’ to the port of Colombo.

Eleven (11) more individuals who completed their quarantine period at the quarantine centre established at Boossa Naval Base, left for their homes today (16^th April 2020).

In light of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, Sri Lanka Navy stepped into improve facilities of the Dr. Neville Fernando Teaching Hospital to treat COVID-19 patients in a safe and effective manner.

The Navy seized a dinghy carrying a stock of Kerala cannabis weighing about 120kg, during a patrol conducted in the seas south of Mannar on 15^th April 2020. Three (03) suspects in connection to the smuggling of cannabis were also taken into naval custody.

After having identified another 100 persons who were potentially exposed to the individuals previously taken into naval custody in Suduwella area, the Navy sent them to the Naval Quarantine Center located at Sri Lanka Navy Marine’s HQ in Sampoor, Trincomalee today (15^th April 2020). The new batch of people were found from Gunasinghapura, Wellaweediya, Grandpass and Nagalangama areas.
