Some of the areas of the island are affected by flood due to the prevailing adverse weather condition in the country these days. Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, a number of emergency naval response teams have been deployed in affected areas by Naval Command as follows.

Thirty six (36) midshipmen who completed their training at the Naval & Maritime Academy (NMA), commissioned as officers of the Sri Lanka Navy today (21^st December 2019).

The Navy launched another beach clean-up programme today (21^st December) in the Southern Naval Command.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Indian Navy Admiral Karambir Singh who is on an official tour to Sri Lanka visited Eastern Naval Command on 21^st December 2019.

The 19^th National Table Tennis Awarding Ceremony organized by the Veteran Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka(VTTASL) was held at the Colombo Light House Gallery on 20^th December 2019.

SL Navy rescued four(04) persons who had displaced by the overflowing of Vila Oya in Athimale, on 21 ^st December 2019.

SL Navy rescued 28 persons who were distressed due to overflowing of Kala wewa, at Dikwewa village in Ippalogama GS division, Anuradhapura, today(21 December).

Navy held seven (07) persons who engaged in illegal catching of sea cucumber , during a patrol carried out at the Vankalai beach area in Mannar on 21^st December 2019.
