On completion of their basic training, four hundred and twenty two (422) recruits of the 237^th intake, passed out at the main parade ground of SLNS Shiksha in Poonewa on 16^th December 2019. Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sumith Weerasinghe graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Navy, during a raid conducted with the assistance of the Police, apprehended 02 persons with 310g of Kerala Cannabis in the beach area of Chaddi, Jaffna on 14^th December 2019.

SL Navy rescued a woman who was drowning in the harbour mouth sea of Galle harbour, on 14 December 2019.
