Indian Naval ship ‘Nireekshak' which arrived in Sri Lanka on 25^th November, departed the port of Trincomalee, today (03^rd December). Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship in accordance to naval traditions.

In response to eventualities following the intermittent heavy showers reported across the island, the Navy has already deployed relief teams in identified areas, as an anticipatory move.

Naval Special Warfare Maritime Security Course 2019 commenced in Trincomalee on 02^nd December. The inauguration ceremony of the course was held at the auditorium of the Special Boat Squadron.

Navy apprehended 02 persons who were engaged in fishing illegally at the Kandy lake in front of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, on 01^st December 2019.

Colombo Supercross 2019 - the mega motorsport event organized by the Sri Lanka Navy for the third consecutive time in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Racing Drivers and Riders Association (SLARDA) concluded at the motocross and gravel track at Welisara yesterday (01^st December).

297.7kg of Beedi leaves has been recovered during raids conducted by Sri Lanka Navy across the coastal belts of Illuppukadawai, Sippiaru in Thunukkai area on 02^nd December.

The Inter Command Basketball Tournament 2019 of the Sri Lanka Navy was held from 25^th November to 01^st December at the basketball court of SLNS Gemunu. The prize awarding ceremony of the tournament was graced by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva.
