Navy in coordination with Police, apprehended two persons with about 2kg of Kerala Cannabis during a raid carried out at Allappidi area in Jaffna on 30^th December 2019.

Navy nabbed two (02) persons for engaging in illegal fishing in the seas off Batticoloa on 30^th December 2019.

The sluice gate of the Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya which was on non operational condition, was brought back to operational by the SL Navy, on 24^th December 2019.

A suspect with a stock of chemical containing glyphosate was apprehended during a raid conducted by the Navy in coordination with Police at Galmaduwa area in Mahailukpallama, on 30^th December 2019.

Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 04 Sri Lankans who were on an illegal attempt to migrate via sea routes, were apprehended by the Navy during a special operation carried out at Padikei area in Trincomalee, on 30^th December 2019.

SL Navy had received information about a boat which had embarked to the Delft island on 26^th December 2019, with a group of Sri Lankan asylum seekers from India and Navy carried out a thorough operation for past few days regarding this matter.

The Inter-Command Drill Competition - 2019 was held at the main parade ground in SLNS Vidura in Sampoor on 28^th December 2019. The event which was conducted for the 9^th consecutive year, was graced by the Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Merril Wickramasinghe as the Chief Guest.

‘Munchee’ National Super League Volleyball Championship-2019 organized by Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation came to close at the National Youth Services Council Indoor Stadium in Maharagama on 28^th December 2019 and Navy women’s team secured the title of runners-up in super league division (women).

The Navy, as part of its wide array of coastal conservation programmes, conducted another beach cleaning drive at several beaches on 29^th December 2019.

The National Sailing Regatta organized by the National Yacht Club was held in the seas off the Crow island in Mattakkuliya on 28^th and 29^th December 2019 and Navy Sailing Pool recorded number of victories at the event.
