Navy's sea transportation crucial in delivering sacred statue of Our Lady of Madhu to churches in island sector, Jaffna

In conjunction with the centenary celebrations of the Roman Catholic Marian Shrine in Mannar, the sacred statue of Our Lady of Madhu was brought to Jaffna. Allowing devotees to pay their obeisance to the statue, the Sri Lanka Navy on 21st April 2024 provided sea transportation to deliver the sacred statue to the churches in island sector, Jaffna.

Mini CARAT – 2024 begins in Sampoor

The Mini Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) bilateral maritime exercise 2024 between the United States Pacific Fleet and the Sri Lanka Navy commenced in Sampoor, Trincomalee today (22nd April 2024). The Indo-American Naval War College Conference, co-hosted by the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) and Indian Naval War College, was attended by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera. The conference was held at the Indian Naval War College in Goa, from 16th to 18th April 2024.

Navy's conservation efforts release 82 sea turtle hatchlings into ocean

The Sri Lanka Navy set free 82 sea turtle hatchlings at the Panama beach on 16th April 2024, in a bid to save these endangered marine animal. The Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Thushara Karunathunga was also in attendance on this occasion where the hatchlings were released.
