Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 13 Indian fishermen along with 2 fishing trawlers for engaging in illegal fishing activities in the Sri Lankan territorial waters yesterday (03 January).

Based on a tip off to the Navy, naval troops attached to the Northern Naval Command together with officials of the Pooneryn Police nabbed a person for possessing a live sea turtle weighing 15 kg, during a search conducted in Pallikuda area, Kilinochchi yesterday (03 January).

On receipt of information to the Navy, naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command combined with Vakarei Police conducted a search yesterday (03 January) and recovered 3 barrels of goda, used for brewing illegal liquor, concealed in Panichchankerni area, Vakarei.
