BNS SOMUDRA JOY departs islands

The Bangladesh Naval Ship BNS SOMUDRA JOY which arrived in Sri Lanka on 31 Jan 25 on a formal visit, departed the island today (02 Feb). The Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing ship at the Port of Colombo, following naval traditions.

Navy installs medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant for Dialysis Unit at Anamaduwa Base Hospital

SLNS Vijayabahu departs for Pakistan to participate in AMAN-2025

SLNS Vijayabahu set sail today (30 Jan 25 ) from the Port of Colombo to Karachi, Pakistan, to join the multinational naval exercise ‘AMAN-2025,’ hosted by the Pakistan Navy. The vessel was ceremoniously sent off from Colombo, following traditional naval customs.

Navy lends hand to clean 28 government paddy warehouses under Clean Sri Lanka initiative

The Sri Lanka Navy is extending its helping hand to clean and repair government paddy warehouses, to ensure safe storage for the Maha season harvest. This initiative is being carried out in support of the government's "Clean Sri Lanka" project, launched under the vision "Beautiful Island, Smiling People.” As part of this programme, the Navy has rendered assistance to clean and repair 28 paddy warehouses, as of 29 Jan 25.

As part of the Naval Social Responsibility (NSR) project, a medical grade Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant designed for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at National Hospital, Colombo was declared open on 29 Jan 25. Going by the initiatives of the Ministry of Health, the RO plant was built utilizing funds made possible by Sanken Overseas (Pvt) Ltd.
