Sri Lanka Navy arrested 2 persons who were attempting to smuggle 5.5 kg of gold to India by a fishing boat last night (30).

Along with the suspects a dinghy, illegal fishing net and a pair of diving fins were also taken in to naval custody.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Lankapatuna in Eastern Naval Command, arrested 4 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices in the seas off Motuwaram yesterday (27).
