A series of health camps were conducted by the Medical Officers along with Medical Assistants of the Sri Lanka Navy in Biyagama, Wellampitiya, Malwana, Mapitigama, Orugodawatta, Kaduwela and Awissawella areas from 20th to 22nd May 2016, in order to look into the health status of people who were affected by floods.

Dialog Axiata PLC joins hands with Sri Lanka Navy to provide relief for people affected by floods

In order to control the deployment and movement of Flood Relief Boat Teams effectively and efficiently from the Naval Headquarters Main Operations Room, the Dialog Axiata PLC provided Sri Lanka Navy a Data Communication Network which tracks boats using G.P.S technology free of charge to be installed in the boats engaged in flood relief operations.

Two Indian Naval Ships arrive at the Port of Colombo with relief material for people displaced by floods

As a result of the request made by His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena from the Indian Prime Minister Hon. Narendra Modi, two Indian Naval Ships, INS Sutlej and INS Sunayna arrived at the Port of Colombo today (21) with essential commodities to provide the much-needed relief measures for the people affected by extreme weather.

The officers of the Northwestern Naval Command extended their fullest contribution to reopen an abandoned school located in the Island of Baththalangunduwa in Kalpitiya. Accordingly the school was once again made available for the benefit of the children in the area since 11th May 2016.
