18th of May marks the seventh year of the eradication of terrorism which scourged the motherland over three decades causing lots of adversities to Sri Lanka and its people.

As a result of the torrential downpour prevailed in the country during past few days, many people across the country became victims of floods and landslides.

Marking the 7th year of eradication of 30-year long brutal terrorism, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne paid tribute to naval war heroes at the Naval War Hero Memorial at the Welisara Naval Complex today (18).

The adverse weather condition prevailing in the Island has resulted floods and landslides in many parts of the country.

Sri Lanka Navy won the overall championship beating the Air Force in the second Defence Services Games’ Golf tournament. The tournament was held in Nuwara-Eliya Golf Course from 11th to 13th of this month.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana in Mandathivu of Northern Naval Command on routine patrol arrested six persons who were illegally harvesting sea cucumbers without having valid license in the seas between Vinayasodi and ‘K’ Point on 11th May 2016.
